# Waiter/Attendant

> You are the primary contact person for your guests—the most critical role for the perception of service quality in any venue.

Waiters are most effective when they can focus on service quality and building relationships.\
**DQ is designed to maximize the face time waiters spend with guests, helping to drive both revenue and customer satisfaction for your venue.**

<Steps>
  <Step title="Guest Arrival">
    When a guest is checked in at the door, the waiter assigned to their table will receive a notification via the **DQ Pro** app.\
    By tapping on this notification, the waiter can view booking details such as included items, minimum spends, and guest lists.\
    If the guest has visited before, helpful data like tags, metrics, and purchase history will also be available.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Order">
    The waiter should begin with any included items, which appear under the **"Package"** menu category.\
    Additional items can be ordered at any time by navigating the menu and following the checkout process.

    At checkout, the waiter may:

    * Take payment using **Tap to Pay** or other digital methods.
    * Request a manager to collect cash, take a card payment, or approve a **comp** request.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Request Manager">
    If the guest needs special attention or the waiter requires support, they can tap the **orange support button** at the bottom right of the screen to request a manager.

    All managers will be instantly notified, and the request will also appear on both the **Tables** and **Notifications** pages.\
    When a manager accepts the request, their name will be displayed in the **Notifications** tab.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Order Extra Mixers">
    Waiters should monitor the supply of mixers and glasses and request more as needed to avoid disruptions in guest consumption.\
    For all other needs, a runner can be requested via the **orange support button** at the bottom right of the screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Close Table">
    At the end of the night, the waiter should close out the table.\
    If payments are still outstanding, a manager will be alerted once the tender type is selected.\
    **Tables cannot be closed until all payments are settled.**
